In today's increasingly digital world, digital skills are essential for participation and success. With an estimated 252,722 people living with common and severe mental illness in Kent and Medway alone, alongside other beneficiaries, WeClick is committed to equipping individuals with the skills they need to thrive. Through partnerships and initiatives akin to those championed by organisations like Good Things Foundation and Digital Unite, we're paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
Now, let's talk about mental health. It's crucial to understand the scale of the issue. Mental health is the largest single cause of disability in the UK, representing 23% of the total burden of ill health. Shockingly, only 25% of people with mental illness receive treatment, contributing to an unacceptably large 'premature mortality gap'. In Kent and Medway alone, with a combined population of over 1.8 million, approximately one in four people will experience a common mental illness in their lifetime. WeClick is committed to bridging this gap, providing vital support to those in need.
